We've been living in Nairobi for more than a month so far. Actually there are so many things to do and to see here. But the most interesting are the animals of course. Being born and raised in Kiev and having seen wild animals only in books and on TV screen (our zoo is a complete disaster) it was a real shock for me to see so many animals and so close. After a game ride in Nairobi National Park I understood that I really liked giraffes. They seemed to me very peaceful and friendly, so the very next weekend we decided to go to Giraffe Centre.
In this lovely well kept place, we had a great chance feeding giraffes and getting up close and personal with a giraffe. Besides you are welcomed to stay in this centre as long as you like. This centre has a great shop (a bit more expensive than those in the city) with a wide variety of souvenirs, books, jewellery and leather goods.
So as we had arrived we were given some food to feed giraffes. And the most intresting began:)
By the way, we also liked seeing a warthog witt his family wandering around:)
This centre was also worth going to as we got to know that there are 3 kinds of giraffes in Kenya: Reticulated giraffes, Rothschild giraffes and Masai giraffes. Rothschild giraffes have no orange colour on their legs, and here Kenyans say they wear socks:) Reticulated and Masai giraffes are distinguished by the coloured dots.
